This 10 hour persuasive writing resource leads pupils through creating their own political parties and writing their own public broadcast. With the Write Brothers as guides, plus the political experience of ex-defence minister Peter Kilfoyle, this is a great way to teach persuasive writing whilst encouraging children to be active citizens. Using provided resources on different aspects of government and political issues, pupils will produce a short film that demonstrates their persuasive writing and presentation skills. There are plenty of opportunities and suggestions for editing and uplevelling work at sentence level. Filming is kept simple; you only need one iPad, tablet or anything with a camera to bring this project to life!
